Viking Shields

Our shields are built the way they were a thousand years ago - planks joined edge to edge, faced by hand, then carved with runes, knotwork or the beast you asked for. Nothing is printed on. Every line you see was cut into the wood.

The face is sealed and finished so it holds its colour on a wall, and the boss is set by hand. Bigger sizes come with a leather strap and grip, so it hangs or carries just as well.

Forged, not cast

Viking Axes

Each axe head is heated, hammered and shaped at the anvil - not poured into a mould. That is what gives the edge its grain and the head its weight. You can see the hammer marks if you look closely, and they are meant to be there.

Handles are fitted individually and finished by hand, from short hand axes to full battle axes. Ask us and we will engrave the haft or the cheek.

Swords

From Norse blades to film and game swords, each one is ground by hand from high carbon or Damascus steel. Full tang through the handle - the blade and the grip are one piece of steel, which is what separates a real sword from a wall toy.

Grips are wrapped, pommels fitted, and the blade is polished before it is packed. Tell us the length you want and we will build to it.

288 layers of steel

Damascus Knives

Our Damascus is folded from two steels - 1095 and 15N20 - welded and folded five times over until the blade carries 288 layers. That is where the pattern comes from: it runs through the steel, it is not etched on the surface.

The result is a blade that takes a fine edge and keeps it. Handles are fitted in rosewood, olive wood, bone or micarta, and every knife is sharpened and oiled before it ships.

Helmets

Built from sheet steel, shaped over a form and riveted rather than welded flat. The nose guard, cheek plates and brow band are each fitted by hand, so no two sit exactly alike.

Choose polished, blackened or brass trimmed - and add a chainmail aventail if you want the full kit.

Each mug is cut from a single buffalo horn, so the colour and grain are different every time - yours will not look exactly like the photo, and that is the point.

The inside is cleaned, sealed and food safe, and the rim can be finished in steel. Engraving on the side makes it a gift people actually keep.
